Great find!
I've been keeping an eye out for Christmas Cocoa DSP from SU! that retired a few years ago. I haven't had much luck until last weekend! I had also been hunting for the SU! stamp set "Valentine Defined" as I wanted to make OH something special. While checking out kijiji, I found someone who was selling the stamp set. I went out to pick it up and she mentioned she used to be a demo and had not long moved to the area. She is no longer a demo so she is selling off a lot of her stuff. She brought up several huge plastic totes for me to peruse. I wasn't going to buy any paper, but seeing how she had so much I figured I'd ask if my chance she had Christmas Cocoa DSP. Sure enough, she had a package with only 1/2 piece missing!!! $5 later and I had a package of my favourite Christmas paper!

Card Making Sunday...the best kind!
Above is one of the cards I made today. A good friend of mine came over and we spent about five hours making cards! It was a great way to spend the day. Just fighting with my camera as I wanted to post pictures of the different cards I made today, but it was a no go. I got this one with my BB. I'll have to wait two more sleeps till OH gets home!!! Yay!

Fun with the Slice
A few weeks back I was checking out kijiji and came across someone selling a Slice. I ended up buying it...who can resist a good deal? It came with one Design Card which of course I had to try out right away. I liked it so much I immediately went online in search of used Design Cards for sale. There was one or two on Kijiji, but people were asking $45 for one and $50 for another. Considering the price new was about that, I wasn't paying that. I went to Splitcoaststampers buy/sell forum then and lo and behold someone was selling a pile of the Design Cards! I ended up getting 7 of them for $8.00 each!!! By the time I paid shipping I was still ahead of the game. This week they finally arrived and since then I have been trying them all out! Do you know what the best part was (aside from the awesome price of course)? They were all brand new, still in the sealed package!!! Yippee.

New to me Loot!
Score! Today I got a "new to me" stamp set for a great price from Kijiji! It's a retired SU! set that I had wanted but had never gotten around to purchasing when it was still available from SU!
Thank you to my fantastic other half (here on in OH) for thinking of me when he was checking out Kijiji for himself and let me know someone was purging their craft room! You just can't beat someone else's gently used stamps, especially if it's a retired set! Also, today my OH happened to see someone else posting on Kijiji! She had literally just posted so I got first dibs!
Today's poster had 8 stamp sets for sale. I am only interested in two and they are mine to pick up tomorrow! How great is that? Three stamp sets for a total of $30!
Guess what I'm doing this weekend?!

New for 2012
I've been cardmaking for about 7 years now. Wow, where does time go?!
I originally got into card making because I wanted to make some invitations. A co-worker of mine had made her own so had lent me some supplies to try out, that coupled with the fact I had discovered a little cardmaking supply store near my office sealed the deal! I attended a few 'beginner' type classes and I was hooked.
I've kept some of my early work and now when I look at it and compare with the quality of what I'm now capable of...what a difference!
I early on learned the value of using quality products after some mishaps with dollar store quality products. There is a good reason quality products are more expensive! Sure, you can find some things which are fine to pick up at a dollar store (i.e. some embellishments like ribbon), but I never use dollar store quality paper/card stock.
I was a Stampin Up! demonstrator for a few years (until I moved) and I can fully understand why they stand behind their product. It is quality. I would rather pay the extra cost of a product like SU! than have poor quality cards. I refuse to give or sell a card I wouldn't be happy to recieve myself. On that note, I would like to say I do offer card making classes for those that are interested. I'm only too happy to share my knowledge and help you to create something you'd be proud to give as a gift.
I will post some samples I've made. Please pass the word and contact me to make some cards!
